Celebrating 4-H and County Fair Season with Prime Foods
Summer in southwest Indiana means county fair season has arrived. It’s a time when families gather, communities come together, and the hard work of local 4-H members takes center stage. From livestock shows and creative exhibits to competitions and community events, the Warrick and Vanderburgh County Fairs celebrate the dedication, leadership, and accomplishments of young people throughout our region.
At Prime Foods, we’re proud to support these traditions because they reflect many of the same values we believe in—hard work, responsibility, continuous learning, and investing in the future of our communities.
The Lasting Impact of 4-H
For more than 120 years, 4-H has helped young people develop confidence, leadership skills, and practical knowledge through hands-on experiences. Representing Head, Heart, Hands, and Health, the program encourages youth to learn by doing while building skills that serve them well throughout their lives. Whether members are raising livestock, creating engineering projects, learning to cook, speaking before an audience, or volunteering in their communities, every project teaches valuable lessons in responsibility, teamwork, and perseverance.
In Warrick County alone, more than 500 youth participate in the 4-H Youth Development Program each year. The program provides opportunities for leadership development, educational workshops, camps, community service projects, and scholarships that help prepare young people for future success.
Prime Foods’ Commitment to Our Local Community
Supporting local youth has always been important to Prime Foods. That’s why we’re honored to serve as a Platinum Sponsor of the 2026 Warrick County Fair.
Our sponsorship helps support the Warrick County 4-H Program, including the Warrick County 4-H Center Board, the Warrick County 4-H Council, and the Warrick County 4-H Inc. Memorial Scholarship Fund. Together, these groups help maintain the fairgrounds, provide educational programming, and create opportunities that benefit local students throughout the year—not just during fair week.
This partnership is especially meaningful because many members of the Prime Foods family have children participating in both the Warrick and Vanderburgh County 4-H programs. Several of our employees also volunteer throughout the year, helping make local 4-H activities and events possible. When we support 4-H, we’re investing in the next generation of leaders while strengthening the communities we proudly call home.
Visit the Warrick County Fair
The 2026 Warrick County Fair is underway now and continues through July 18. Throughout the week, visitors can enjoy exhibits showcasing months of dedication from local 4-H members while experiencing one of our community’s favorite summer traditions.
Every project on display represents hours of learning, practice, and determination. Whether you’re cheering on participants in the show ring, exploring exhibit halls, or simply spending time with family and friends, the fair is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of local youth and the volunteers who support them.
Looking Ahead to the Vanderburgh County Fair
The celebration continues next week as the Vanderburgh County Fair runs July 20–25, 2026.
Prime Foods is proud to support this annual community tradition as well. Like the Warrick County Fair, the Vanderburgh County Fair provides an opportunity for local 4-H members to showcase their hard work while bringing together families, neighbors, volunteers, and local organizations for another memorable week of summer fun.
How You Can Support Local 4-H
Supporting 4-H doesn’t require being a member. There are many ways our community can help these programs continue to thrive:
- Attend your local county fair and celebrate the achievements of young exhibitors.
- Volunteer your time to help with events and activities throughout the year.
- Support local businesses and organizations that invest in youth development.
- Share information about 4-H and encourage young people to get involved.
Every volunteer, sponsor, and fair attendee plays an important role in helping these programs continue making a positive impact.
Investing in the Future
County fairs are about much more than rides, food, and entertainment. They’re a celebration of learning, leadership, and community.
Prime Foods is proud to support the young people, volunteers, families, and organizations that make the Warrick and Vanderburgh County 4-H programs such an important part of southwest Indiana. We look forward to celebrating another successful fair season and wish every 4-H participant the very best as they showcase the results of their hard work.
