Prime Foods Year in Review: A Celebration of Family and Community

When most people think about food production, they imagine machinery, efficiency, and bottom lines. At Prime Foods, we see things a bit differently. We see families. We see people. We see a legacy that extends far beyond our facility walls in southern Indiana.

For eight decades, our company has understood a fundamental truth: our success isn’t measured just in how many hard-boiled eggs we produce or how many snacking products we create, but in the lives we impact. Since the Kramer family founded Prime Foods in 1936, we’ve built more than a business—we’ve also created a community.

A Day of Competition and Camaraderie

One of the ways we cultivate a sense of community at Prime Foods is through our annual Carnival. Once a year, we step away from our daily routines to celebrate the incredible team that keeps Prime Foods moving forward. What began as a simple gathering has become a powerful tradition that brings our entire team together.

The Carnival isn’t just an event; it’s a living, breathing representation of who we are as an organization. When employees and their families come together, something special happens—barriers break down, connections form, and the true spirit of Prime Foods emerges.

This year’s event featured exciting competitions that brought employees and their families together, including our annual cornhole and soccer tournaments among others.

Cornhole Tournament Champions:

Congratulations to Rod and Ryan Cottrell (family members of Mandy Cottrell, Prime Foods Purchasing Manager), winners of this year’s cornhole tournament!

Soccer Tournament Winners:

The soccer tournament featured an impressive performance by Team CR7, composed of members from our sanitation tam and their family members. The winning team included:

Juan Gamez     Erick Luna

Gregory Rosado     Travis Alaniz

Daniel Gray     Dexter Grant

Beyond the competitions and games, the yearly Carnival is a genuine reflection of our team’s spirit and shared commitment. These moments reveal the real strength of our organization—the people who show up, work hard, and support each other. We couldn’t be more proud of our team members. Thank you to everyone who participated!

Celebrating Together: Prime Foods’ Moments

In addition to our Carnival, we’ve embraced opportunities to connect and celebrate together throughout the year—from our Hard Boiled Hitters softball team competing on the field to cheering on colleagues during the Bright Lights 5k at Garvin Park. We’ve shared memorable moments like birthday celebrations and recognized the achievements of our team members. Whether we’re supporting each other’s athletic endeavors, recognizing personal milestones, or simply spending time together, our team continues to build meaningful connections that strengthen our organization.

Staying Ahead: Our 2024 Industry Conference Tour

At Prime Foods, we’re always eager to connect, learn, and grow alongside fellow food professionals. Throughout 2024, our team hit the road to explore the latest industry trends and expand our network at some of the most important conferences across the country:

  • NACS Show – Las Vegas, NV
  • IFT FIRST Expo – Chicago, IL
  • IDDBA 2024 – Houston, TX
  • Food Safety Summit – Rosemont, IL
  • National Restaurant Association Show – Chicago, IL
  • Refrigerated Foods Association (RFA) Conference – Fort McDowell, AZ

These gatherings aren’t just events for us; they’re opportunities to learn, share insights, and discover the latest innovations in food manufacturing and safety. By engaging with industry experts and our peers, we’re constantly evolving and finding new ways to deliver exceptional products and experiences.

As we reflect on another year at Prime Foods, we are deeply appreciative of our team. It’s the dedication of each individual that truly defines our organization. To every person who has contributed their time, energy, and talent this year: we see your hard work, we value your commitment, and we are grateful for the spirit that moves Prime Foods forward. As we look ahead to 2025, we are excited about the potential we’ll create together, continuing to innovate, grow, and support one another.
